Parkville College is currently looking for Casual VET Teaching Staff who are interested in working in a specialist DET school at our Cherry Creek campus.
Parkville College is a registered specialist school that delivers senior secondary certificates for all children and young people detained in the custody.
The College delivers education to, and in the best interest of, some of Victoria's most vulnerable, yet inspiring children who are filled with enormous potential. The Parkville College education model incorporates strong local partnerships to deliver a flexible range of educational options, in addition to the provision of holistic support to meet well-being needs and rehabilitative goals. In recognition of the custodial environment and existing educational disadvantage, the school program includes weekends and term breaks to enhance the learning opportunities for the children and young people in Custody and Secure Services.
The key role of a Casual Employee may include but are not limited to:
- Meaningful and intentional outreach daily; focusing on connecting with students to develop relationships and enhance engagement in classrooms.
- You will be required to support in the classroom in areas such as Music, Art, Hospitality, Engineering, Fitness, Digital Art, and Hairdressing.

- Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to provide targeted educational opportunities while fostering a safe, inclusive, and respectful culture.
- Comply with legislation and College policies, processes, and instructions, including those relating to safety, and duty of care.

- Have a current and valid Working With Children’s Check or must have provisional or full registration from the Victorian Institute of Teaching.
- Must have a method of transportation to come to and from Kangaroo Drive, Little River.
Applicants who have already completed the 40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment will be highly regarded however this is not a mandatory requirement. The successful applicants must also complete a DJCS Induction & Parkville College HR Induction prior to commencement in this position.
