Chief Content Officer

Since 2009, SolarQuotes has helped Australia become the most successful residential solar market on Earth, and we've had a great time doing it.

We're looking for a talented, experienced, and witty Chief Content Officer to lead our content team. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to maintain and improve SolarQuotes' position as the go-to destination for Aussies seeking the latest and greatest information in solar, batteries, and EV chargers.

• You will be the creative vision, the final approval, and ultimately responsible for all our content, from web pages to Tik-Tok, to long-form videos and our blog.
• As the mastermind behind our content strategy, you will craft concise news posts, refine in-depth articles, and employ AI for research and editing while maintaining our SEO, creative, and legal standards.
• You will manage our diverse team, maintain schedules, keep our website fresh, and handle any complaints or legal threats from offended parties (you know, the usual corporate drama).
• Your goal is to keep our content innovative and engaging, steering clear of clichés and ensuring technical accuracy whilst leveraging the latest AI to ensure our content stays ahead of the curve but always original.

• You will need excellent editing and writing skills, keen attention to detail, and the ability to efficiently manage deadlines, graphic designers, SEO practitioners, video editors, on-screen talent, and recalcitrant bloggers.
• We're looking for someone with a background in journalism, digital content, SEO, and team management. You should be proficient in WordPress, YouTube, and Google Search Console and comfortable using Basecamp for project management/communication and AI for increased efficiency.
• Experience in solar, batteries, energy-efficiency, or electric cars will be beneficial.

• We are a team of misfits; we abhor re-hashed press releases, filler content, commoditised AI-written content, click-bait, inaccurate technical writing, and manufacturers who try to influence our output.
• You’ll have no fixed hours; you’ll be judged by what you do, and its impact, not how, when, or where you do it.
• We know this combination of skills is as rare as an honest politician, but so is the opportunity.
