THE ORGANISATION
The Western Metropolitan Regional Council (WMRC) is a local government organisation, formed to provide specialist waste management services for its five member Councils. The WMRC is based in Subiaco and actively seeks to provide services across the whole of Perth’s west central metropolitan area, to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of waste management for residents, institutions, business and government throughout the region. The organisation is innovative in environmental and financial sustainability practices and prides itself on being a leader in the services it offers.
THE ROLE
Reporting to the five Councillors from the Member Councils, the Chief Executive Officer will lead the team of approximately 20 staff to deliver the strategic objectives and vision set by Council, to provide innovative waste management, recycling and resource recovery services which are socially, environmentally and economically sustainable. You will be responsible for effective business management, governance, compliance and procurement strategy, whilst providing stability, to ensure excellent service delivery.
REQUIREMENTS
If you are a commercially-minded executive with experience in a local, state or federal government setting, or a similar board governance related service delivery environment, we would be interested in hearing from you. A reliable and committed leader, the successful candidate will have demonstrated financial management, strategic planning and corporate governance skills. Additionally, someone with a tertiary qualification combined with strong stakeholder relationship management skills will be the ideal candidate for this position.
THE PACKAGE
The Total Reward Package range for this three-to-five-year contract is offered in accordance with SAT Band 4, being $136,023 - $213,356. This is an opportunity to progress your career in an inner City Council.
