Details: The Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) is responsible for establishing and maintaining the vision, strategy, and program to ensure that information assets and technology is protected in collaboration with the ACT Government CISO and Health’s Agency Security Adviser.

1.Develop and implement Health’s Information Security vision, policy and associated implementation plan that aligns with the ACT Government’s approach in terms of confidentiality, integrity, availability and privacy protection for the information processed, owned or stored by ACT Health.

2.Implement a risk-based assessment for all security risks relating to ACT Health’s information assets and technology commensurate with the risk appetite of ACT Health.

3.Ensure that Information Security requirements are implemented in all contracts and procurements and establish a process to audit and validate such controls.

4.Create and manage a health specific Information Security awareness-training program for all employees, contractors, volunteers and other approved system users and implement metrics to measure the effectiveness of this training program across the different cohorts.

5.Monitor trends, elicit and manage feedback in relation to ICT security from clinical and administrative officers and advise the CIO about potential concerns that may impact clinician perspectives about access to and use of technology.

6.In conjunction with the ACT Government CISO and the Director, Technology Operations, take a leadership role in the management of any incidents with ICT security impacts. Including advice to individual units and officers on effective ICT and Information Security strategies and issues

7.Liaise with ACT Health, Shared Services ICT and external agencies and networks as necessary to ensure that ACT Health maintains a strong security posture while improving organisational effectiveness and is well abreast of any relevant threats.

8.Undertaking other duties appropriate to this level of classification which contribute to the operation of the section with the delivery of high-quality person and family centred, safe and high-quality patient care.

Eligibility/ Other Requirements:  

1.Prior to commencement, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a pre-employment National Police Check.

All ACT employees are required to undergo employment screening. This role requires you to obtain and maintain an Australian Government NV1 security clearance, which will be sponsored by the ACT Health Directorate. To be eligible for an NV1 security clearance, you must be an Australian citizen. If you are not successful in obtaining a Security clearance, your employment in the role will not commence. If already commenced, your employment will be terminated.

Note: A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only.
