Reporting to the CEO, this role will see you leading the Psychiatry Division; responsible for all operational, clinical and medical matters as well as ensuring all services are delivered to the highest standard. There is a particular focus on medical governance/ compliance, building a quality improvement culture as well as continued digital innovation.
THE OPPORTUNITY:
- Report directly to the CEO and provide regular updates on medical matters and initiatives.
- Serve as the primary Medical Subject Matter Expert (SME) and provide expert advice to the CEO and other senior leadership.
- Develop, implement, and sustain medical governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
- Provide mentorship and expert advice to practitioners, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
- Conduct assessments and treatment sessions as needed, maintaining clinical proficiency and staying connected to patient care.
- Collaborate closely with the Chief Operating Officer (COO) to optimise processes and workflows, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of medical services.
- Lead and participate in cross-functional teams and committees aimed at improving patient outcomes, operational efficiency, and organisational effectiveness.
- Stay informed about emerging trends, technologies, and regulatory changes in the healthcare industry, and proactively recommend strategies to address them.
- Represent the organisation in professional forums, conferences, and industry associations, building relationships and promoting the organisation's reputation as a leader in healthcare.
- Work collaboratively with other members of the executive team to develop and execute strategic initiatives that drive organisational growth and success.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the medical department and across the organisation.
- Ensure alignment of medical practices and initiatives with the organisation's mission, vision, and values, and promote a patient-centred approach to care delivery.
- Demonstrate personal agility and flexibility by having a day one mindset.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Demonstrated experience in a similar Chief Medical Officer/ Director level role
- Specialist Registration on AHPRA with no restrictions to practice
- Brisbane based
- Prior DVA experience highly regarded
