About the role
- The Chief People and Culture Officer (CPCO) will be a strategic thought leader in all things People and Culture. This position is central to providing executive leadership to shape and lead strategic People and Culture thinking, strategy development, and initiatives at the executive level in a complex, diverse and dynamic environment with ambitious goals for its community and people.
- The position will lead the People and Culture directorate, ensuring robust and sustainable people systems, processes, and frameworks are in place to support and respond to day-to-day people requirements, whilst also enabling cultural and operational changes for the future.
- The position will lead the People and Culture directorate to design, deliver and implement People and Culture initiatives that are engaging, collaborative in design, and of a high standard aimed at positioning Metro North Heath as an employer of choice to attract, retain and strengthen the capabilities of Metro North Health to improve the experience of our people, our patients and our community.
- As a senior executive of Metro North Health, the incumbent will take on a Metro North Health-wide leadership role, exemplifying collaboration and driving strategic thinking, whilst also ensuring a customer centric People and Culture service is delivered across Metro North Health for tactical matters.
- The incumbent will engage with the Chief Executive and Senior Executive Team to ensure all People and Culture strategic initiatives are in synergy with the overall strategic directions of Metro North Health, and to report on achievement against associated KPIs related to People and Culture.
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
Essential
- A successful and proven record as a senior People and Culture/HR leader in a large, complex organisation.
- Demonstrated ability to develop, lead and implement a broad range of contemporary People and Culture strategies, programs, policies, and operational practices to successfully support the strategic objectives of the organisation.
- Previous experience in managing change and the delivery of change management initiatives across the whole organisation.
- Strong organisational and project management skills and sound business acumen.
- Proven track record in building and maintaining effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders.
- Highly developed verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a broad range of people from a variety of backgrounds and experiences.
- Experience as a senior leader in a multi-disciplinary role in health.
- A broad understanding of the health services system in Australia.
- Experience in transformation of People and Culture/HR in a large complex organisation to deliver contemporary, strategic, best practice People and Culture services aligned with organisational strategy would be highly regarded.
