Are you passionate about providing nutritious meals to support the growth and development of children? We're seeking a Childcare Cook to join our team and take charge of our kitchen operations while infusing creativity into our meal planning and preparation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Menu Creation: Craft weekly menus that not only meet but exceed dietary requirements, catering to the diverse needs of our children.
- Collaborative Planning: Liaise with the Administration Team for menu approval, ensuring alignment with nutritional guidelines and preferences.
- Meal Preparation: Prepare appetizing lunches and afternoon snacks for all rooms, maintaining quality and variety.
- Timely Service: Serve meals punctually and at optimal temperatures to all rooms, ensuring a seamless dining experience.
- Coordination with Staff: Collaborate with the team to gather accurate meal numbers before food preparation for each meal, ensuring minimal waste and maximum satisfaction.
- Vendor Relations: Manage weekly food orders efficiently, establishing and nurturing relationships with vendors.
- Kitchen Maintenance: Uphold impeccable standards in the kitchen and storage areas by monitoring thermometers, checking expiration dates, washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and organizing all food-related items.
- Confidentiality: Respect and safeguard the privacy of information concerning families, children, team members, and administration.
- Relationship Building: Foster positive relationships and maintain respectful communication with families, children, team members, administration, and the wider community we serve.
- Culinary Expertise: Proven experience in meal planning and preparation, especially within childcare settings.
- Organizational Prowess: Ability to manage kitchen logistics, including inventory, orders, and cleanliness, with precision.
- Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills to engage effectively with various stakeholders.
- Creativity in Cuisine: Bring inventive and creative ideas to meal planning, encouraging healthy and exciting eating experiences for children.
