Collinsville Open Cut is located approximately 160km from Airlie Beach in Queensland, a town known as the gateway to the Whitsunday Islands and the Great Barrier Reef. Producing both metallurgical and thermal coal for the export market, the surface mine has a long life and is transitioning from a dragline strip to a truck and shovel terrace operation. Collinsville also offers accommodation provided at the on-site village boasting comfortable facilities.
Reporting to the CHPP Maintenance Superintendent, you will supervise and coordinate all Maintenance works for the Collinsville CHPP. This is a pivotal role, and you will be required to lead a team of tradespeople to provide support to the CHPP Operations team.
In this role, you will:
- Prioritise, coordinate, and execute scheduled maintenance activities
- Prioritise available resources for breakdown and reactive maintenance
- Be responsible for both preventative and breakdown maintenance activities
- Ensure condition monitoring inspections on all equipment is completed to a high standard
- Be involved in the development of scopes of work for mechanical projects and shutdowns
- Maintain maintenance systems ensuring integrity of data
- Supervise and coordinate all maintenance activities ensuring all work is completed as scheduled to quality and safety standards
Using your excellent problem-solving skills, you will be successful in driving continuous improvement of plant performance. You will bring to the team fresh ideas and creative thinking to challenge the status quo. Leveraging off your previous leadership experience, you will offer your team coaching and support to drive high performance.
About You:
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Commitment to setting and maintaining high safety standards
- Understanding of HSEC and legislative requirements
- Experience in a CHPP or open cut mining operation (highly desirable)
- Engineering and/or trade qualifications (electrical/mechanical)
- Proficient in utilising SAP (highly desirable).
