Owned and Operated by Yancoal Australia, Mount Thorley Warkworth (MTW) is one of the largest open pit operations in the area. Located 15 kilometres south-west of Singleton in the beautiful Hunter Valley region of New South Wales, MTW relies on both draglines and load haul systems as the current and preferred mining method. Our site operates continuously 24 hours a day, seven days a week and has a long and proud history, employing approximately 1350 people from local and surrounding communities, who are our most valuable asset.
Job Tasks and Responsibilities
Reporting to the CHPP Electrical Supervisor, your primary responsibilities will be to perform inspections, carry out installations and maintenance in the Coal Handling and Preparation Plant (CHPP). The role will require you to:
- Conduct routine and breakdown maintenance activities;
- Conduct statutory and preventative maintenance inspections;
- Manage minor installations and improvements.
Essential Criteria:
- Dedicated to maintaining safe work practices and environment;
- Electrical trade qualification;
- Proven CHPP or other heavy industry experience;
- Ability and desire to work well within a multi skilled team;
- Methodical approach to problem solving;
- Sound computer literacy;
- PLC and Instrumentation experience (desirable)
