We are a very successful business operating within a specialist area of the civil works industry. We are currently seeking a full-time Civil Plant Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Boronia. We have a modern workshop, along with a Northern Depot at Benalla.
This is a workshop-based role, however there will also be field service requirements and travel, utilising our company owned on-site service truck (no requirement for candidates to supply a work vehicle). The role calls for an eager, proactive and adaptable approach.
About the role:
- A proactive focus on safety is imperative
- Servicing of our modern fleet, including 80+ vehicles/equipment. Includes earthmoving plant, trucks, support vehicles etc.
- Repair and maintenance of a range of makes and models but a Majority
- Workshop repairs as well as on-site call outs
- Management of a fleet register, attending to vehicle pre-start issues, servicing etc.
- Attending Company operational meetings and proactive involvement in setting/monitoring fleet processes and systems
- Supervision of sub-contract mechanics and an apprentice
What you will need to be successful:
- Qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic with high level of technical skill and 5-10 years’ experience in Civil Plant/equipment
- Current truck licence
- White card
- Ability to self-motivate and work autonomously
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage time and resources
- Experience with Horizontal Directional drilling and Non Destruction Digging equipment highly regarded (HDD/NDD)
