Civil Projects / Maintenance Worker (9155 & 9786)

This role contributes to the success of the City by undertaking a range of civil and/or asphalt activities in a safe, efficient and cost effective manner and assists with the training and mentoring of trainee staff.

Role accountabilities include:

• Performing maintenance and construction activities
• Operating plant and machinery
• Traffic management
• Undertaking concreting duties including formwork and finishing
• Conducting hotmix asphalting

The desired applicant will have experience in civil construction including hot mix asphalting, concreting, and pipe laying together with basic worksite traffic management exposure.You will have the ability to work from instructions and procedures and the ability to apply judgement and make decisions based on established procedures. Demonstrated safe and competent operation of small plant, such as compaction equipment, quickcut saw, jackhammers and power tools and rollers, skid steer loaders and other machinery is preferable. You will hold a current Driver Licence and have the ability to obtain a Medium Rigid Driver Licence and White Card if not already gained.

You will have a can do attitude, great communication skills and thrive in a friendly team environment, then this may be the role for you.
