GA 2023)Advertised Vacancy Number: IPS/SS903594Appointment PoolWanneroo Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of dedicated Cleaners in Charge (CIC) for appointments to permanent, fixed term and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2024 school year and up to the end of Term 3, 2025. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2024 school year, up to the end of Term 3, 2025.Suitable applicants will ideally have experience with carrying out internal and external cleaning, and sound knowledge of cleaning equipment, products, safe cleaning procedures, methods and practices and leading a team. The CIC is responsible for opening and closing the school, including arming and disarming security, conducting internal and external cleaning duties, assisting with regular cleaning inspections, inducting, training, leading and managing cleaning staff, including relief staff. The CIC is responsible for ordering and maintaining cleaning stock levels within the allocated budget.As a team leader, suitable applicants will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and are responsible for organising, motivating and supervising the cleaning team to achieve positive and productive outcomes. Suitable applicants will ideally have knowledge of cleaning equipment and safe cleaning procedures, methods and practices. Additionally, they will organise vacation clean rosters and will be required to complete vacation cleaning duties, which will include overseeing the stripping and sealing of vinyl floors, window cleaning, shampooing of carpets, pressure cleaning of verandas and undercover areas and other such duties as required.The CIC will liaise with the Manager Corporate Services on all cleaning matters, including daily handover, and respond to issues and concerns to ensure a clean and safe school environment. - Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to induct, coordinate and supervise the work of cleaning staff.
- Experience in school or commercial cleaning.
- Experience in the safe storage of cleaning equipment, materials and chemicals.
- Ability to recognise and interpret Material Safety Data Sheets, equipment operating instructions, safety instructions and training guidelines
