About the Role:
This role provides cleaning and housekeeping support to NDISparticipants in their home, promoting a clean, safe, and healthy livingenvironment that contributes to their well-being and independence. Thisposition requires sensitivity to the participant's disability and a commitmentto upholding NDIS principles.
MUST HAVE :
- An NDIS Screening Check
- Current Working With Children Check (WWCC)
- Right to work in Australia.
As a Cleaner, you will:
- Perform thorough cleaning tasks, ensuring a healthy and comfortable living space for participants.
- Adapt cleaning methods to individual needs and preferences, demonstrating disability awareness and sensitivity.
- Maintain confidentiality and respect participant privacy.
- Communicate effectively with participants and team members, building rapport and positive relationships.
- Uphold NDIS principles and safety protocols in your work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cleaning tasks:
- Vacuuming, sweeping, mopping floors
- Dusting furniture, surfaces, and electronics
- Cleaning bathrooms and kitchens
- Removing garbage and recycling
- Laundry (washing, drying, folding, ironing)
- Making beds and changing linens
- General tidying and organization
- Additional duties (as required):
- Reporting any safety concerns or equipment issues
- Maintaining confidentiality and respecting the participant's privacy
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Excellent cleaning and housekeeping skills
- Experience working with people with disabilities or in a similar setting (highly desirable)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexible and adaptable approach
- Reliable and punctual timekeeping
- Commitment to NDIS principles and participant-centered care
Desirable Skills and Qualifications:
- Knowledge of safe handling of cleaning products
- Cultural awareness and sensitivity
Work Conditions:
- Part-time, flexible hours (dependent on participant needs)
- Work in the participant's home environment
