The Fish Factory is excited to announce a job opportunity for a Cleaning Supervisor, operating on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will join an established team of cleaners and lead our cleaning team in daily duties around our retail and warehouse areas. The role will see the successful candidate work closely with a range of management heads, ensuring high standards of cleanliness are upheld throughout the business. Being a natural people person, the successful candidate will be able to successfully delegate tasks and manage a team and roster. This role includes on the job training and genuine opportunities for advancement and career development. You will be exposed to a wide range of facilities, warehouse operations, machinery and working areas, which will grow your skill and expertise. The successful candidate will have strong communication skills and an eagerness to learn and improve efficiencies throughout the cleaning team.
Your role
This is a full-time position working 45 hours (less breaks), operating a Tuesday – Saturday roster. Leading a team, you will be responsible for all cleaning activities and duties within the business. Ensuring all areas of the business are prepped for next-day operations, the successful candidate will have an eye for detail and strong communication skills. Being a natural leader, you will be able to delegate tasks through your team and ensure efficiencies are being always maintained.
The main responsibilities of the position are:
- Managing and overseeing the shutdown and preparation of plant for next day operations
- Reporting to management figures
- Taking feedback and executing direction from senior management
- Ensuring warehouse and retail areas are cleaned within appropriate time frames
- Roster management
- Cleaning and sanitation of seafood processing equipment and warehouse areas
- General warehouse cleaning duties
Experience, qualifications & personal attributes
Essential
- Previous experience as a Cleaning Supervisor or head cleaner
- Ability to lead a team and possess strong communication skills
- Critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Ability to organise, prioritise, multitask, be flexible and meet deadlines.
- Work well with others and be a team player.
- Strong work ethic.
- Proactive work style.
Desirable, but not necessary
- Strong understanding of commercial and warehouse cleaning.
- HACCP certified
