SalaryProgrammed are currently working with a large Australian owned and operated manufacturer of quality frozen & baked pastry products. They are looking for an Industrial Cleaning Team Leader at their factory in Virginia on a FULL TIME PERMANENT BASIS.
Reporting to the QA Manager successful applicants will have the following:
- Experience working in an industrial food manufacturing environment.
- Strong leadership skills and experience.
- Industrious work ethic.
- High attention to detail.
- Clear and concise communication skills.
- Ability to do repetitive work.
- Physically fit, as there will be regular movement of machinery involved.
- Familiarity with GMP principles and ability to work with the QA Manager to uphold HACCP principles.
- Experience in Chemical Handling.
- Familiarity with industrial cleaning equipment.
- Positive attitude with an ability to build, manage and sustain lasting relationships.
- High level organizational skills with the capacity to fulfill multiple priorities.
- Focus on safe working procedures and environment.
- Current first Aid certificate would be highly regarded.
About the position:
- Hours of work are primarily 9am to 5pm, Mon to Fri however this may vary.
- Hourly wage boosted significantly through penalty rates.
- Uniforms are fully supplied & laundered.

Responsibilities of the role Include various cleaning duties such as:
- Using high-pressure washers, chemicals, and hoses to clean food processing areas, equipment, and staff amenity facilities.
- Moving various sized machinery to be rotated for daily clean.
- Disassembling machinery to chemically clean for use the next day.
- Assembling machinery and setting up lines for production.
As a Team Leader your role will also include:
- Lead a Cleaning Team of around 12 employees.
- Assisting the QA Manager with scheduled micro testing procedures and ensuring all company standards are maintained.
- Assist the Quality Manager in all matters affecting hygiene standards.
- Providing leadership and control in all matters affecting cleaning.
- Various admin duties associated with hygiene management.
