Racing Victoria’s Raceday Services team is looking to recruit a casual Clerk of Scales to work at race meetings in the South West Region.
About the Opportunity
The role of the Clerk of Scales is to ensure jockeys are carrying the correct riding weight before and after races and to act as the central communication and administration point for raceday officials and broadcast.
About you
The ideal candidate will:
- Posses strong attention to detail coupled with well developed administration and communication skills
- Have excellent interpersonal skills and willingness to work in a team environment
- A willingness to learn the relevant Rules of Racing and raceday protocols.
- Availability to work casual shifts on week days and weekends sometimes at short notice.
- A knowledge and interest in thoroughbred horse racing is preferred
- Excellent daily rates of pay and generous allowances
