The Institute for Urban Indigenous Health (IUIH) leads the development, planning and delivery of comprehensive primary health care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people living in South East Queensland.
Moreton Aboriginal Torres Strait Islander Community Health Service (MATSICHS) is committed to providing holistic health care to improve the health and well-being of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the Moreton Bay area. We have clinics across the Moreton Bay region including locations at Caboolture, Morayfield, Deception Bay, Margate and Strathpine.

About the Role?
Join our team as a Clinic Nurse and enjoy the flexibility to work part-time or full-time hours, while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. We currently have positions available across various clinic sites, including Caboolture, Morayfield, Deception Bay, Margate, and Strathpine, as well as availability within work within regional MATSICHS relievers team. As a Clinic Nurse, you will be providing specialist community and primary health nursing services that focus on the prevention, early detection, and management of health issues within our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
Within this role, you will:
- Conduct initial medical engagement including, triage assessments, taking of medical history/detail, ,
- Deliver patient treatments and care under the direction of the doctor including wound care and pathology collection.
- Conduct Health Checks and immunisations as required.
- Make a positive contribution to illness prevention and promotion of health through chronic disease management, health screening, recalls, and patient education.
About You?
- Ability to communicate, engage effectively and work together with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
- Current AHPRA Registration (Registered Nurse or Endorsed Enrolled Nurse)
- Current C Class Drivers Licence (QLD)
- Current CPR
Desirable, but not mandatory:
- Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and /or communities
