About us:
The Education and Research Unit provides Nursing and Midwifery education, professional practice development services and Clinical Practice Improvement initiatives for nursing and midwifery staff, to facilitate the achievement of best practice health service delivery requirements.
The Education and Research Unit is led by the Nursing Director of Education and Research. The Nurse Educators, Midwifery Educators, Clinical Nurse Consultants, Clinical Placement Coordinator, Clinical Facilitators - Student Facilitators, Transfusion Nurse and Librarians report to the Nursing Director of Education and Research. Nurse Educators in Gladstone, Emerald, Aged Care and Mental Health have professional links with the Education and Research Unit.
About the role:
Clinical FacilitatorStudent Placements are experienced clinicians who are employed across the Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service (CQHHS), to facilitate and support the learning experiences of undergraduate nursing/midwifery students whilst on clinical placement.
The Clinical FacilitatorStudent Placements actively engages in the development of a learning culture, through face-to-face interaction and teaching of nursing/midwifery students, whilst liaising with the clinical unit and respective teams.
The Clinical FacilitatorStudent Placements models' evidence-based practice at a proficient level relevant to the area of specialty.
About you:
To be successful in this role you must have current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a current annual practising certificate. A Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent is a mandatory qualification for this position as well as successful completion of the preceptor program.

  • Proven ability to develop evidence-based, educationally sound teaching and learning resources.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, written and oral communication skills including presentation skills.
  • Willingness to undertake ongoing professional development and a commitment to the development of a learning culture.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive and productive relationships with students, team members, patients and education providers, including participation in relevant networks.

Salary information:
Total remuneration value of up to $10,671 p.m. is comprised of:
  • A salary between $52.86 - $56.60 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
