Job description

  • Completed Part 1 Certification in Genetic Counselling from the Human Genetics Society of Australasia (HGSA), or a post-graduate qualification in Genetic Counselling (eg. Master’s degree).
  • Experience as a genetic counsellor in a Clinical Genetics unit.
  • Demonstrated advanced reasoning skills with ability to problem solve, prioritise work and meet set deadlines.
  • Proven ability to work under minimal direct supervision with utilisation of independent professional judgement for routine tasks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Commitment to ongoing education and completion of full accreditation as a genetic counsellor by the Human Genetics Society of Australasia.
