AGENCY PROFILE:

The Department for Health and Wellbeing (DHW) is an administrative unit under the Public Sector Act 2009 with responsibility for setting strategic direction and statewide policy, as well as the performance of the public health system through high-level system direction and performance management.  

SA Health is how we describe the public health system as a whole.  It includes the Department, ten Local Health Networks, and Statewide Clinical Support Services, SA Ambulance Service, SA Dental Service, Prison Health, and Drug and Alcohol Services SA.

ROLE PROFILE:

The Clinical Information Director is accountable to the Deputy Chief Executive Commissioning and Performance and is seconded to the SA State Health Coordination Centre and SA Virtual Care Service (SHCC and SAVCS) for the delivery of high-quality information products aligned with the vision, purpose, values, and objectives of the DHW information and analytics and specific SAVCS and SHCC strategic and operational analytic plans.

Reporting operationally to the Executive Director, SHCC and SAVCS, the Director will develop an effective data and analytic strategy for the SHCC and SAVCS, aligned with SA Health strategic objectives to deliver capacity and capability that informs decision making at both operational and clinical levels.  It will lead the integration of digital technologies, including information products, into clinical and operational practice patient flow decision supports and predictive analytics of the SHCC and SAVCS/DHW.

The Director will lead the development and implementation of improved data/analytic driven clinical decision support tools for the SHCC and SAVCS and in relation to state-wide flow progression and related decision supports.  The Director will work closely with Digital Health SA, Commissioning and Performance and the Office of the Chief Medical Information Officer on predictive and SHCC/SAVCS analytics strategy that will build capacity and inform key decision making that will enhance service delivery aligned with SA Health strategic requirements.

The Director will have demonstrated experience in clinical system development and application of health technologies and will ensure the SHCC and SAVCS analytic strategy promotes a learning and innovation culture that values continuous improvement through a connected learning system, effective service evaluation, and supports relevant SA Health obligations.

Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Check and appropriate immunisation requirements.

Criminal History Screening Requirement

  • A National Police Certificate (NPC) for employment involving no contact with vulnerable groups is required for this position (general employment)
