Lead Acute Medicine & Palliative Care. Support Palliative ward & clinical pharmacy staff at Auburn Hospital.

Remuneration: $64.23- $65.97 per hour

Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) is responsible for providing primary and secondary health care for people living in the Auburn, Blacktown, and The Hills Shire, Holroyd and Parramatta Local Government Areas (LGAs) and tertiary care to residents of the Greater Western Region. What you'll be doing
In this role you will be the lead for Acute Medicine and Palliative Care. Providing support to the pharmacy staff allocated to the Palliative ward and other clinical wards. You role will also be responsible for:

  • Ensuring comprehensive clinical pharmacy services for outpatients and inpatients.
  • Optimising patient outcomes through quality use of medicines.
  • Providing drug information and education to healthcare professionals and patients.

Essential Criteria:

  • Qualification: Full Pharmacy qualifications conferred by Tertiary Education Institutions e.g., Bachelor of Pharmacy.
  • Registration: Full Pharmacist registration with AHPRA with no restrictions to the scope of practice.

Selection Criteria:

  1. Full registration with the Pharmacy Board of Australia with no conditions or restrictions on scope of Practice
  2. Extensive experience in the provision of advanced clinical pharmacy services including advanced level practice in end of life and Palliative care in a hospital setting
  3. Demonstrated skills and experience in managing a complex workload, problem solving and development and implementation of initiative.
  4. Excellent negotiation, decision making and advocacy skills including the ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders, throughout all organisational levels
  5. Ability to provide in-depth advice and education to enhance service delivery and to guide and support others in providing service excellence, with the capacity to provide clinical support education.
  6. Ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes and lead ongoing quality improvement activities with other staff.
  7. Well-developed written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills necessary to interact effectively with patients and other stakeholders and the ability and experience to write policies/protocols and guidelines
