We are the state's leading provider of specialist care for children with acute and chronic conditions as well as being South Australia's largest maternity and obstetric service, and statewide Maternal Fetal Medicine service.Our community-based services also reach hundreds of thousands of babies, children and young people, their families and communities across South Australia through our various services and programs in areas such as our Mental Health, Child & Family Health services, Youth Health and Aboriginal Health services.The Paediatric Palliative Care Service (PPCS) provides support to families caring for a child with a life-limiting illness. This is tailored to each family's individual needs to help make decisions about care. The Paediatric Palliative Care Service is uniquely responsible for the provision of care across the whole state of South Australia and into Northern Territory, Broken Hill and Mildura.The PPCS is a statewide service providing specialist care for children with life-limiting conditions. Our mission is to provide excellent service to children and families facing life-limiting illness through partnership with families, interdisciplinary teamwork, and offering holistic care.The service is a multidisciplinary team of health care specialists including:
  • Doctors
  • Nurses
  • Grief and Loss Coordinator
  • Social Workers
  • Art Therapists
Join our team and contribute to providing South Australia's women, babies, children and young people with the best health care through both within our hospital or via our many and varied community services and programs.The OpportunityAn exciting ongoing opportunity exists within the Paediatric Palliative Care Service to join as Clinical Lead - Psychosocial Team working in a part-time (0.3 FTE 11.25 hours per week) capacity.In this role, you will:
  • Provide professional, clinical and strategic leadership to the Paediatric Palliative Care Psychosocial team (consist of Social Work, Grief and Loss Coordinator, Art Therapist and Strengthening Connections Program and Hospital wide bereavement support)
  • Develop and maintain a high standard of governance and accountability for the Psychosocial Team
  • Develop and review psychosocial service delivery models in consultation with the PPCS team
  • Contribute to PPCS leadership in collaboration with the Medical and Nursing Leads.
  • Provide consultancy and advice on matters relating to psychosocial care and services.
  • Provide clinical supervision, education and mentoring to the Psychosocial Team to ensure best practice both within the service and more broadly to healthcare professionals and care providers across the state of South Australia and the Northern Territory.
