About the Role:
This is a ongoing role within the Anaesthesia & Pain Management department. The role operates Monday to Friday with up to 1.0FTE ongoing available, part-time job share arrangements possible.
You will work closely with the other Clinical Nurse Consultants, Consultant Anaesthetists and Pain Medicine Specialists to provide a comprehensive pain management service at the Royal Children's Hospital. You will be a nurse with pain management and/or paediatric experience and excellent communication skills.
What you’ll achieve:
- You will promote the implementation of safe, effective pain management practices throughout RCH through clinical audits, protocols and guidelines
- You will provide support to staff by completing audits in clinical pain management for children with acute or chronic pain
- You will identify appropriate areas for consultation with patient, carers and teams
- You will support and promote pain management competency packages for all registered nurses working in clinical areas of the Royal Children’s Hospital
Your skills and experience:
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) administered through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing personal and professional development, as evidenced in a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) record/Professional Practice Portfolio (PPP)
- Extensive nursing experience (at least 3 years paediatric nursing)
