About your opportunity
The Rural and Remote Mental Health Program, within Townsville Hospital and Health Service is currently seeking to recruit a Clinical Nurse Consultant to their team on a fixed term temporary full-time basis, commencing 02/01/2023 for 6 months.
This position is based in Townsville, with regular travel to Palm Island required.
The Clinical Nurse Consultant will travel regularly to Palm Island (daily flights included) and will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team and other service providers to provide specialist mental health and alcohol and drugs interventions for community members (and their families) across the lifespan who experience complex and severe problems relating to their mental health and/or alcohol, or other drug use disorders.
The Clinical Nurse Consultant will provide high level mental health clinical services and leadership within a multidisciplinary community mental health team for all consumers which is safe, of the highest quality possible, and in accordance with established professional standards and legislation.
The Clinical Nurse Consultant will work with the Rural and Remote executive team to develop and expand therapeutic programmes, working in partnership with consumers, and other local service providers.
Generous remuneration package value up to $12,319 p.m. comprising:
- Salary range of $4561.00 to $4951.80 p.f. (Nurse Grade 7)
- 4 weeks annual leave with 17.5% loading
- 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.
Requirements
- It is a mandatory requirement to be and to remain vaccinated against COVID-19.
- Proof of qualification, registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possession of a current practising certificate.
- Travel by light aircraft will be required. Overnight stays may be required.
- Possession of class C drivers' licence.
- This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.
- All employees of the Mental Health Service Group may be required to work in other areas of the service.
- Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
