About your opportunity
Fixed Term Temporary part-time / 56 hours p.f. / upto 3 months with possible extension not exceeding 12 months.
The role of the Clinical Nurse is to provide direct nursing care utilising clinical skills, education and support to patients/clients and nursing staff within the Ingham Health Service to ensure the provision of best practice and quality patient care.
Please note, from time-to-time this position will be required to travel to, and work at, other facilities located within the Rural Hospitals Service Group network to participate in meetings for planning, quality, performance, training and education, or clinical activities. This may involve day and/or overnight stays. Travel on small planes or ferry may be required.
What we are looking for?:
- Ability to contribute to assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of person centred nursing care under the delegation of the registered nurse/midwife.
- Ability to work as an effective member within a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with the multidisciplinary team, patients and their families.
- Ability to use or learn to use information systems appropriate to the position.
- Ability to demonstrate own ongoing professional development.
Generous remuneration package value up to $7886.00 p.m. comprising:
- Salary range of $52.86 to $56.60 p.h. (Nurse Grade 6 Band 1)
- Annual leave with 17.5% loading
- 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.

Requirements
- Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent is a mandatory qualification for this position.
- Evidence of completion of modules related to medication administration and peripheral intravenous therapy.
- Proof of qualification, registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possession of a current practising certificate.
- This position requires the incumbent to operate a class C motor vehicle and an appropriate license endorsement to operate this vehicle is required.
- Accommodation: On-site temporary single staff accommodation will be provided for the successful applicant.
- Highly Desirable: Postgraduate qualifications relevant to the position or working towards a relevant qualification.
- Highly Desirable: Extensive experience in Emergency Department and a current Adult Life Support certificate.
- Highly Desirable: Possession of or working towards a relevant post-registration and/or tertiary qualifications in mental health nursing would be well regarded
- This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.
