We are recruiting a newly created role as Commercial Effectiveness Manager – Customer Analytics to join our BI (Business Insights) team. Reporting to the Head of Business Insights, the role will be crucial in shaping GSKs approach to customer analytics. You will use your considerable analytical skills to be the customer champion, building insights and models that increase our understanding of the customer.

In this role, you will be able to drive GSKs customer insights by identifying business challenges where we can utilise customer data to ensure we are servicing our customers to a high standard. Enabling GSK Colleagues to utilise customer data for assisted decision-making to enhance our customer engagement and satisfaction. Our goal is to provide our customers with the best access to product and disease information to make their roles easier.

You will have ownership and a high level of influence on GSKs customer profiling, persona development and value assessments. Your data sets will be utilised for data-assisted decision-making for call objectives, frequency analysis, territory alignment, resource allocation and forecasting.

You will be required to consult with the business to help develop GSKs customer data strategy, including building engagement with the strategy. You will also be responsible for building the systems, tools and models required to use customer analytics for data-assisted decision-making.

You will be the subject matter expert for customer-level insights from a data perspective. You will manage external data providers to ensure that GSK abides by its high standards of data ethics and governance.

Your responsibilities will be broad and will include:

  • Assist in the development and execution of the customer analytics strategy
  • Consult across all levels of the business to engage, scope, and implement customer analytics initiatives.
  • Build and maintain customer analytics tools based on complex business requirements using SQL, Python etc. and Microsoft power platforms
  • Respond to data and systems-related queries and proactively work to identify and solve issues
  • Own GSKs customer data (automated and Excel based), working with local and regional tech to ensure consistency and accuracy
  • Own customer value assessment, profiling, and persona development
  • Lead territory workload and resourcing assessments and create recommendations for the business
  • Create and own territory realignment tools and work with business insights and operations on the management of territory changes and territory master data
  • Work with the head of business insights to create robust and accurate models and recommendations to the senior business team for long range resourcing requirements.
  • Work with the Reporting analyst and business insights lead to ensure the customer analytics strategy is implemented
  • Act as the point of contact for external data providers to ensure access to data and correct data ingestion in partnership with regional BAaaS teams and Tech
  • Work with BI lead’s and collaborate with local operations to streamline and manage master data for territory alignments and customer data management
To be successful you will have:
  • Experience in customer analytics
  • BA in Computer Science, Data Science or similar. Master’s degree preferred and/or Several years in data analyst positions
  • A strong understanding of coding languages like SQL, Python and or R
  • Experience with targeting, profiling, and persona development
  • Ability to understand and translate business requirements into simplified and easy to use business insights tools
  • Demonstratable deep interest in dynamic customer data, identifying and visualising customer insights using Microsoft azure and power platform or similar
  • Understanding statistical and econometric modelling, quantitative analysis, and data mining
  • Strategy, development, and stakeholder management sills
  • Ability to leverage large, multi-dimensional data sets to drive business decisions
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with marketing and commercial teams
  • Natural ability to have a good relationships with people and establish strong and meaningful relationships with others.
  • Negotiation and change management mindset
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders, Knowledge of Agile
