Commercial Ops Buyer - External Manufacturing & Packs

Looking to put your procurement and collaboration savvy to great use, while feeling the excitement that comes with working with enthusiastic, passionate pet people?Working closely with the Sourcing Managers and Reporting to the Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager for Packaging, we have a great opportunity for someone looking for a procurement role to further grow their career.As the Operations Buyer for the External Manufacturing & Packaging portfolio, you will support our development capabilities in co-manufacturing, co-packing and sourcing of brought in finished goods, while also providing buying operations support across multiple packaging categories. You will lead exceptional quality deployment and continuous improvement of Commercial strategies, practices, policies and projects – all while navigating mutually beneficial solutions. What are we looking for?University degree and has conceptual knowledge of theories, principles and practices.Knowledge/Experience in operations, supply chain or procurement.Broad understanding of procurement function, with additional knowledge of Quality & Food Safety methodologies.Good communication, project management, change management skills, and negotiation skills.Strong team player with good self-awareness and ability to build relationships with peers and broad range of associates. What will be your key responsibilities?Manage the External Manufacturing portfolio & support Packaging operational portfolios to ensure alignment to the broader Petcare Supply ChainMeet the Q&FS requirements as outlined by the Mars Global StandardsEnsure SAP supplier contracts are in place, up to date, amended as needed and recorded in category ‘books’Deliver value leadership activities, including owning and managing the execution of activities across the business.Provide the first line of escalation on issues between suppliers and the business, including resolution of quality issues in conjunction with SQAEnsure the efficient and effective execution of the sourcing strategy (validation of new suppliers, set up supply chain, specifications, documentation requirements etc)Support the implementation of local activities, including representing commercial in activity meetings, i.e. NPD, Factory Activity ProjectsSetting the sourcing plan effectively for External Manufacturing, co-packing and small spend packaging items.
