Due to forecasted growth and demand for Shearwell's offering, we are recruiting a newly created role as a Commercial Sales Manager.

Your new role

The Commercial Sales Manager plays a pivotal role in shaping and executing the commercial strategy of the Australian and New Zealand business, and will be responsible for making key business-related decisions. The key focus will be on driving revenue growth, optimising profitability, and identifying market opportunities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • With the Commercial Director, develop and execute commercial strategies that align sales, marketing, and business objectives, with a keen eye on financial targets and market trends.
  • Lead revenue growth and business development activities to expand the company's market share and reach new customers.
  • Contribute to the company's overall business objectives and sales strategy.
  • Report to management and stakeholders to provide advice and guidance on key business decisions.
  • Working with the Commercial and Finance Directors to set commercial targets, pricing strategies, optimise margins, and ensure sustainable business profitability.
  • Analyse sales data and financial reports to make data-driven decisions.
  • Conduct competitor and market analysis to identify trends, assess opportunities, and drive product and service improvements.
  • With the Sales Manager lead and motivate the sales teams, providing training, mentorship and guidance to drive excellence.
  • Represent the business at key events, conferences, and networking avenues to enhance the company's reputation through brand representation.
  • Effectively communicate the organisation's value propositions to clients, partners, and internal stakeholders.
  • Meeting deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.


What you'll need to succeed

  • Demonstrated success in a senior commercial or sales leadership role.
  • Proven record of achieving targets, driving revenue growth, and expanding market share.
  • Industry specific knowledge and expertise within agribusiness is advantageous.
  • Exceptional sales and negotiation skills to secure lucrative contracts.
  • Budget management and reporting proficiency.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
  • Proven record of business acumen to make strategic decisions that drive profitability.
  • Leadership qualities to inspire and guide the sales team.
  • Initiative, enthusiasm, and the ability to thrive under pressure.
  • Organisational skills and strategic thinking.
