Commercial Steel Coater / Industrial Coatings

The Job…

We are seeking Experienced Industrial Painters/ Commercial Steel Coatersfor employment by Portolesi Structural for site-based coating works and by Portolesi Protective Coatings for out steel coating facility in Burton. Some of the duties you may be performing include, but are not limited to:

• Steel preparation and application of various single part or two part paints, including primers, epoxies, top coats, tie coats and intumescent coatings.
• Performing WFT checks on coating thickness to assure correct thicknesses.
• Working to scheduling plans and targets.
• Understanding, operating & cleaning the spraying equipment you use.
• Stripe coating/ touch ups by hand with rollers and brushes.
• Use of domestic blasting equipment, e.g. pot/ pencil blaster
• Use of access EWPs

Candidate Requirements…

• Must have 2+ years of hands on painting/ coating experience.
• Great initiative and attitude when working in teams or alone.
• Problem solving skills when working with difficult steel members.
• Must either be prepared to be clean shaven so a provided respirator can fit suitably and safely (moustache/ goatee is acceptable in certain conditions) OR provide their own positive air fed respirator.

• Holds a forklift ticket.
• Holds a white card.
• Holds any other construction industry tickets
