The Firm & The Role

My client is one of Australia's leading commercial law firms ad they have a successful and growing Government team that acts for government clients (both Federal and State) as well as some clients in the private sector.

This team is known for working on high profile major projects, major contracts as well as procurement and probity work.

This role will see your working across various industry sectors such as construction, infrastructure, defence, education, IT, social housing, transport, aged care. A flavour of the work will include:

• major contracts;
• ITC roll-outs;
• drafting tender and associated tender documents;
• drafting funding documents;
• advising on probity and procurement projects;
• advising on corporate governance;
• advising on privacy, data protection and FOI

This is a 'hands on' role where you will work closely with the partner and their clients. You will be given client responsibility and as this team is not top heavy there is a genuine career path that can be fast tracked for the ambitious candidate.

About You

You will have:

• At least 2 years pae in the area of contracts or commercial law, gained from private practice, in-house or government
• Strong drafting and negotiations skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Able to juggle competing deadlines
• Be a team player but also be able to work autonomously
• Commitment, enthusiasm and pro-active approach to your work
