Projects in the Physical Sciences portfolio at UniQuest are typically drawn from such disciplines as IT, physics, electrical engineering, chemical engineering, science, mining and materials science. The common thread is a focus on scalable and sustainable projects leveraging UQ IP to deliver societal and economic impact to the global community.
As a Commercialisation Associate you will:
- Prepare and qualify preliminary due diligence evaluations for new invention disclosures, leveraging a supported and proven framework;
- Support commercialisation by market and competitor analysis, finding comparable deals, preparing technology marketing flyers and identifying potential licensees;
- Contribute to commercialisation pipeline building, including seeking out business development leads;
- Shadow team directors and continue to co-ordinate project matters, when directors are unavailable (e.g. vacation)
- Work closely with legal team to identify and make recommendations for consideration on key legal agreement clauses;
- Conduct intellectual property analysis by searching scientific and patent literature for similar technologies, and support IP protection and patenting strategies.
About You
As the ideal candidate you will be an excellent communicator, organised, have a strong curiosity about new, early-stage technologies with a critical review.
You will have tertiary qualifications in field relevant to the position (for example AI, Quantum, Physics etc.), preferably to post-graduate level.
To excel in this role you will need to be adaptable, results driven, a problem solver with an entrepreneurial mindset and be able to support a large and varied portfolio of commercialisation projects.
The role is based at UniQuest’s offices on The University of Queensland’s St Lucia campus, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.
