Job description

Passionate, motivated and engaging communicator. Bring sources of sustainable income to fund the growth and development of resources for the blind and vision impaired.

  • Bring marketing & communications knowledge with an interest in fundraising
  • Office based role, 5km South of Brisbane CBD
  • Package includes salary + super + generous leave
There are exciting plans for the future of the organisation which include a purpose-built facility that will be supported by a capital fundraising campaign, now the search is on for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual keen to further drive business growth through fundraising..

This exceptional yet small nonprofit organisation was first established in Brisbane 126 years ago in response to need. Today, as the primary provider of tactile literacy for people who are blind or have low vision, the organisation works tirelessly towards it’s mission: “To empower people of all ages who are blind or have low vision through alternative formats.”

“For every 100 books a sighted child has access to, a blind child only has access to 5.”

International Library Association

Braille books, tactual maps, calendars and a number of support services help those who are blind or have low vision, and also extend to the broader population to raise awareness and to foster inclusion in education environments.

Funding comes (primarily) from donations and grants. So, this is an integral role for a talented, engaging and motivated fundraiser - with marked COMMUNICATIONS & marketing skills and entrepreneurial talent – to contribute to the growth and help shape initiatives to take this essential organisation into the future.

It’s a wonderful challenge for an enthusiastic marketing & communications trailblazer with an understanding of fundraising and event management…

With an established, yet small supporter database and fundraising channels that include revenue from government, donations, grants and services, there is immense scope for strategic growth and plentiful opportunities to contribute to the development of key campaigns, events and appeals.

To be considered for this career-shaping role - where you will be helping the blind and people who have low vision to become more independent - you need to be a motivated, eager and proven communicator with a particular inclination to contribute to the development of this inspirational organisation’s philanthropy strategy.

Organised and disciplined, passionate but grounded, you are personable and an engaging communicator who is driven by a desire to provide practical, measurable support to the blind, to those who have low vision and to their families.

If this role interests you, please submit your cover letter and resume in WORD format quoting reference number GCFDCL to *****@windsor-group.com.au or contact Gabriella Cirillo on 07 3211 0***.
