Permanent Part Time – 20.5 hours per week (Monday, Tuesday and Thursday)

Band 3- $63,316.57 - $68,504.94 (pro-rata) + superannuation

The Community Transport Team provides a specialised bus service to the vulnerable community in the City of Yarra. Our clients are people who are 65 years and above and/or people with a disability who need that extra assistance due to their mobility to access group activities or local shopping centres which will keep them living independently in their home.

We are looking for a dynamic and caring person to join our team to drive the Community Bus. The right candidate will hold a light rigid license or above and have experience working with aged and/or people with a disability. The candidate will need to be comfortable driving a 24-seater bus in the streets of Richmond and providing support to clients who use walking frames or are on wheelchairs.

The right candidate will show the ability to relate to and have an understanding of issues facing older clients and people with a disability in the community. Working in a team among other Bus Drivers and other Aged and Disability staff the candidate will participate in team discussion to improve the quality of service keeping safety in mind.

As a Community Bus Driver you will be part of a team making a difference in the lives of the most vulnerable community members in Yarra. This rewarding position offers career development and advancement which includes on the job training such as manual handling, defensive driving course and opportunities to work in other units in the community programs team. You will be supported to grow in the job and your input will be valued in shaping forthcoming changes to the service.
