Community Champion - Seniors / Aged Care (Flexible Hours)

About Us

Youngster.co is a social enterprise startup with a purpose. We believe in the power of community and technology to bridge generational gaps. 

The Youngster.co program brings young people and seniors together in shopping centres, libraries, community centres, and other locations for intergenerational tech help sessions. Youngsters provide personalised tech help for seniors, including how to use their phone, do video calls, connect on social media, etc. Seniors teach Youngsters life skills and leave a lasting legacy.

The Role

We are looking for someone who is passionate about intergenerational connection and well connected with seniors in the local area. We need someone with good presentation, networking and coordination skills. This role involves networking with local seniors to encourage them to participate in the program, as well as working with local community organisations, Youngsters and the venue to make sure the program is a success.

Key Responsibilities

This role involves 1-2 hours of work per week to:

• Network with local seniors to encourage them to participate in the program.
• Present to local seniors groups, Aged Care facilities etc.
• Coordinate your promotion efforts with those of the venue (library, shopping centre etc).
• Work with the team of Youngsters to deliver the program.

Ideal Candidate

We don’t require you to have any specific qualifications or previous work experience. What we look for is:

• Passion for intergenerational connection.
• Existing connection with local seniors and seniors groups.
• Ability to network with groups and individuals in the community.
• Good presentation skills.
• Ability to organise and coordinate a program.
