About the Role: Do you love making a difference, working in team environment and creating fun social experiences that connect people living in residential care homes together?
We are seeking a suitably qualified candidate for a part-time opportunity in Social Programs located in Rostrevor, Hope Valley and Elizabeth. The position will provide backfill for leave at any of these care homes, Monday-Friday 9.30am-4.00pm (0.78 FTE). The position is based at Rostrevor when no backfill is required at other locations.
Your role will support the effective delivery of social experiences to enable people to live Good Lives by connecting with their community through experiences that match their interests. Whether people have a passion for art, love to sing in choirs or enjoy sharing their travel stories, there's a group experience to match their interest.
As this role is required to travel across multiple sites, a travel allowance (per km) is accessible for this purpose.
What you'll do:

  • Create social plans and reviews that identify social goals
  • Provide support and coaching to connect people to on and off site experiences
  • Lead and run groups
  • Assist in organising and running of events
  • Orientate and supervise volunteers
About You!
You are talented and passionate about connecting people socially. You want to make the most of your expertise, do what you do best and thrive on seeing people have fun, engage in interests and connect with community.
  • Experience in leading and facilitating groups and/or events and supporting participation of group members
  • Capacity to work flexibly in partnership with customers and others using a strong customer service approach.
  • Computer based documentation to meet accreditation standards.
  • Experience working with people at risk of social isolation and loneliness including those from a CALD background and people living with memory loss or Dementia.
  • Willingness to travel between residential care homes to backfill as part of the social team.
You will need:
  • Certificate IV Community Services (Leisure and Health) or equivalent relevant qualification
  • A satisfactory National Criminal History Record Check that complies with ACH Group Policy no older than 12 months at commencement of employment.
  • A current driver's license with access to a registered and reliable vehicle
  • Current vaccinations for COVID-19 (at least 3 doses)
