- Salary : $71,128 to 76,272 depending on experience, plus superannuation and salary packaging options

About the roleThis position is responsible for providing respectful support to Aboriginal Young People to provide them with the opportunity to connect with their culture and community. This position will work with community connection programs to support clients in a culturally safe manner and work with external stakeholders to optimise client service delivery.
About You- Qualifications in community services or equivalent
- Demonstrated commitment and understanding for the values that underpin VACCA' vision and purpose
- Demonstrated awareness and appreciation of Aboriginal societies and cultures, and commitment to continually build knowledge of such, along with a high level of awareness of the key issues which impact upon Aboriginal communities
- Experience in working and engaging with Aboriginal families and children
- Growing knowledge and/or lived experience with an understanding of Child Protection and Out of Home Care system
- Knowledge of the issues faced by children and young people in care/ leaving care
- Demonstrated ability to work in a culturally respectful and competent manner, with young people, their families, and communities, to ensure that cultural connections are fostered and maintained
- Time management skills, the ability to problem solve and the ability to risk manage
- Ability to act in a professional manner and build strong relationships.
- Requirements: Ability to travel regularly; a full Victorian Drivers Licence; a current employment Working With Children Check card and a current COVID-19 vaccination (including booster dose, as applicable)
