Salary: $99,095 - $108,247 p.a. + 11% superannuation contribution

Apunipima Cape York Health Council is a community controlled Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander health service, which provides culturally appropriate, family centred, primary health care services to the communities and people of Cape York.
About the Opportunity
An exciting opportunity for a Community Dietitian-Nutritionist to work as part of a multidisciplinary team, liaising and work with local health staff and community stakeholders to provide clinical dietetics, food service menu reviews, nutrition training and advice as well as community nutrition initiatives, ensuring services are appropriate and relevant to community needs.
This position will work as part of the Nutrition team to meet key deliverables and work towards greater goals for the department and organisation.
Pre-employment screening for vaccination against Vaccine Preventable Diseases will be conducted for the successful applicant.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
- A tertiary qualification in Nutrition and Dietetics formally recognised by Dietitians Australia
- Current Accredited Practicing Dietitian (APD) status
- 3+ experience post-qualification
- Experience in planning, implementing and evaluating public health programs within a project management framework
- Experience in the delivery of best practice dietetic services with the ability to apply culturally relevant and ethical approaches to practice.
- Ability to exercise independent clinical judgement when providing novel,
complex or critical tasks relevant to discipline, including clinical services of a complex nature - Understanding of the historical and contemporary issues that impact on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities, particularly in Cape York
- Ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and/or
Torres Strait Islander people in accordance with community protocols and
customs - Current Queensland Drivers Licence
- Current Blue Card positive notice or exemption, or willing and able to obtain prior to commencement
