Job description

New South Wales Police Legacy (NSWPL) is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to caring for the Police Family since 1987. 

NSWPL has eleven employees, overseen by a Board of Directors. 

The charity supports the families of serving and retired police officers impacted by loss.

The Community Events Coordinator is the coordinator of the internal Legatee events and any special one-off internal events for the organisation.  Events include Legatee camps & adventure treks, local area connection lunches, Christmas luncheons, family events and other associated events.

In this role, you’ll coordinate internal Legatee events, special one-off community support internal events, and various Legatee community activities such as camps, adventure treks, local area connection lunches, Christmas luncheons/events and family events. 

Additionally, you will oversee the NSWPL Volunteers program, ensuring compliance with standards set by Volunteering Australia and the Office of the Children’s Guardian.  The position requires attention to detail, the ability to multitask, autonomy, and collaboration with team members. 

You will represent NSWPL at events and functions as required with some out of hours or weekend work involved.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

  • Tertiary Qualification from University or TAFE in an events discipline
  • Two years of administrative work, preferably with a suitable qualification
  • Alternatively, five years in an administrative role

  • Strong Proficiency in computer tools (Sharepoint, Outlook, Word, Excel) and CRM data entry & reporting
  • Logistics expertise with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Time management skills for setting objectives, prioritising, planning and meeting deadlines
