Job description

JDRF – WA is seeking a Fundraising Coordinator to join the Philanthropy Executive, WA for a Maternity contract role until end of June 2025. The role would be suitable for a relationship-driven individual with prior experience in the not for profit with a particular focus on community support and engagement, fundraising support, and account management of those who register to events, event planning and delivery, exemplary phone manner and a good understanding of CRM’s (ideally Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite. The ideal candidate will build rapport quickly with the WA type 1 diabetes community and those who support them as well as fundraisers, donors, schools, organisations and healthcare professionals.

About the Role

  • Support of newly diagnosed families within 12 weeks of diagnosis and delivery of State Welcome Program, requiring time on the phone, effective listening, empathy and understanding. 
  • Understanding of the full suite of Community Programs offerings including all kits, guides, learnings and virtual sessions and the provision of these tools and resources to the T1D community. 
  • Support in the delivery of JDRF events and campaigns including: -
  • WA Blue Tie Ball 
  • One Walk in metropolitan and regional locations (or support of Walk Hosts) 
  • Jump Challenge – a tandem skydive held at Rockingham
  • Abseil Challenge
  • Go Blue Days in conjunction with schools or organisations. 
  • Community 3rd party and beneficiary events (in support of event hosts)
  • Recruitment phone calls/messages/emails to prospective fundraisers
  • Phone calls/messages/emails to prospective donors for Giving Day donations.
  • Account management of fundraisers be it individuals, teams, schools and organisations and the development of fundraising plans and provisions of suitable fundraising resources
  • Understanding of State Financial Metrics and a proactive approach in the achievement of State Revenue Goals, retention of current fundraisers and identification of new supporters. 
  • Collaboration and referrals to the Philanthropy and Partnerships team.
  • Delivery of metropolitan and regional T1D Meetups.
  • Procurement of auction and raffle items for the Blue Tie Ball.
  • Representation of JDRF at community events, fundraising events, and research update events, including public speaking as required.
  • Effective use of Salesforce (CRM) that accurately reflects your interactions and activity with the community. 
  • Recruiting and coordinating volunteers for events and providing any necessary guidance and support 
  • Establishment of good relationships with staff, the community, and members of the Community Leadership Group (CLG) - a local volunteer group that will support you in growing JDRF’s portfolio of relationships, events, and programs.
  • Attending monthly CLG meetings both in-person and virtual, supporting National Community Fundraising Manager by taking minutes and disseminating these after the meeting 
  • Potential, consecutive weekend work during busy campaign periods as well as external events out of hours attendance. Time in lieu provided.
