Qualifications & experience
- Certificate IV in Youth Work, Mental Health, or Community Services, or related fields, and/or relevant work experience.
- Experience working with individuals experiencing multiple complex needs, including psychiatric disability, homelessness, substance abuse, dual diagnosis, ABI, and financial disadvantages, with the ability to manage risk.
- Understanding of the Trauma Informed Care Framework and experience in broad case management practices from a recovery-focused and person-based approach.
- Ability to engage with people respectfully, demonstrating cultural safety and awareness, particularly with First Nation and CALD background individuals.
- Strong written and communication skills.
- Awareness or understanding of mental health issues and social inclusion, or the aptitude to acquire knowledge.
- Full unrestricted NT driver's license and personal vehicle.
- Valid Working with Children Check.
- Valid First Aid, Mental Health First Aid, or ASSIST training preferred.
Tasks & responsibilities
- Assist with program facilitation, mentoring, and program redevelopment/evaluation meetings.
- Engage in all-day community activities, evening events, full-day trips to remote communities, overnight stays in remote communities, and weekends as required.
- Report to the Project Manager.
- Maintain a direct service caseload as determined by the Project Manager.
- Work flexible shifts i.e day and overnight remote trips (must be available to travel in July 2024), day and night community events, weekends and Public Holidays
