Job description

Elecnor Australia has been awarded the engineering, construction, and procurement contract for Transgrid’s EnergyConnect project. 

The scope of the project includes a new 700km transmission line extending from Wagga Wagga NSW to the South Australian border, one new and two upgraded substations and five newly built accommodation camps.

When built, EnergyConnect will enable future renewable energy projects to connect to the electricity grid. Further information can be found at www.elecnor.com.au

This role could be FIFO from Sydney/Melbourne/Adelaide/Queensland or alternatively suit a local candidate from the Mildura area. 

Completions Manager - Substation Construction and Commissioning 

The Completions Manager plays a key role in the project administration - driving internal and external stakeholders to deliver appropriate materials and data to achieve Practical Completion. 

This project is a major Australian decarbonisation enabler. This role is fundamental to it's successful delivery, and has interfaces with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver operational & financial outcomes for the project.
  • Manage a high performing team of individuals to ensure compliant completions. 
  • Liaise with peers to deliver positive outcomes for the business
  • Communicate effectively to the client, team and internal stakeholders
  • Prepare and present reporting to internal & external stakeholders
  • Provide support to managers and process owners in ensuring compliance to via assessment mechanisms, using problem solving tools to determine root causes and suggesting solutions from various perspectives of data to make decisions.
  • Ensuring the processes are continuously being improved and optimised

About you

As the successful candidate you will ideally have

  • A strong background in EHV Substation Construction and Commissioning
  • A thorough understanding of the construction process, 
  • Experience in building and managing high performing teams
  • The ability to problem solve, identify root causes & develop solutions
  • Experience from inception to implementation to hand-over using Completions Packages (Hexagon or similar experience preferred)
  • Availability to be able to travel to both Sydney Office, and the multiple site locations on a regular basis
  • FIFO  2:1 roster during site phase
