Composite Technician/Boat Builder

On the job training will be provided where necessary. 

Position Requirements

• Trade experience with a minimum of at least 3 years
• Experience setting up and operating vacuum infusion equipment desirable
• Experience working with Epoxy resin systems and polyester gelcoats desirable
• A focus on quality and delivery
• Must understand how to read engineering drawings
• Understanding of and commitment to OH&S and QA policies and procedures
• Forklift licence (Advantageous)
• Australian Residency (Essential)

Qualifications Required

• Composite trade qualification 

Primary Responsibilities Include

• Manufacturing structural components using vacuum infusion techniques
• Manufacturing composite parts using hand laminating techniques
• Being responsible for the upkeep, maintenance and storage of mould tools
• Cutting materials such as fibreglass and vacuum bagging materials as required
• Manufacturing of moulds, jigs and fixtures as required in the development of processes for new and existing products
• Marking out, cutting and shaping of composite parts to engineering drawings
• Assembling composite parts and structures with a variety of materials and techniques
• Repairing composite components as required
• Spraying gelcoat, sanding and detailing parts
• Working as part of a team to achieve production goals and deadlines
• Ensure Company policies and procedures are followed
