Job description

About 12 Micron Venue: 12-Micron is an exquisite venue in the heart of Barangaroo that can be utilised for business events and private functions. Three light-filled spaces offer an exclusive event experience in a restaurant setting.

Designed by renowned design duo Kirsten Stanisich and Jonathan Richards, 12-Micron draws inspiration from Sydney’s native flora and urban context. Every detail has been carefully considered and beautifully realised – from the cobblestone floors to the suspended linen ceiling and textured bark-like leather finishes. The colour palette of plum, green, and blue captures the essence of Sydney.

We are looking for someone with excellent knowledge of managing events and functions from 20 up to 350+ people.  The candidate should have a strong background in coordinating such events in lead up, to the hands on approach of running the night and to the follow up after the event with the sales team. 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting event orders and communicating relevant information with other departments in particular kitchen staff and Event sales coordinators
  • First point of contact for all client enquiries on the event days 
  • Planning and coordinating staffing requirements with other supervisors 
  • Leading your team efficiently and delegating tasks appropriately
  • Hosting/running events from start to finish
  • Room set-up and bump out
  • Rostering all FOH staff reequipments 
  • Beverage, linen, and supplier orders
  • Check all meeting rooms and Event spaces for last minute details and changes
  • Mentor and train staff
  • Administration duties as required

Must be flexible and available to workdays, nights, some weekends and public holidays.

Skills and experience:

Successful applicants will be assertive, energetic and have a passion events and exceptional customer service. 

Have minimum 2+ years’ experience working within events expediting.

Have proven leadership qualities, able to train staff and create a fun, and positive environment for the team.

Possess great communication and people skills and the ability to work with a team and take direction.

Be able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Be experienced in coordinating and directing staff.

Possess an eye for presentation, detail, ambience, and high time management skills.

Possess a current RSA certification.
