Under the direction of the Senior Operations Officer:

  • Participates in the development of works programs across the department's fire management, nature conservation, marine, parks and visitor services and sustainable forest management programs, in a range of land and waters management activities related to conservation, parks and wildlife work.

  • Provides direction and leadership to employees supervised.

Selection Criteria

Applicants should address the following four (4) criteria. These should be addressed in no more than four (4) pages in total.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and supervise others, identify training needs, conduct training as appropriate, and promote an environment of continuous learning.

  • Sound knowledge, and experience in supervising projects and works programs, to ensure they are planned and implemented in an efficient manner, and an ability to determine day to day priorities and ensure best practice quality measures are achieved.

  • Sound communications and interpersonal skills and a proven ability to work with internal and external stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes.

  • Experience in the construction and maintenance of infrastructure relevant to the department.

Note: The successful applicant will be required to possess or obtain a current (issue date not older than 6 months) and satisfactory National Police Check prior to commencement.
