Marist180 is now seeking applications for an experienced and passionate Trainer with a background in Construction.
Job Description
Working within a multifunctional and passionate team, use your construction knowledge and skills to not only train and manage a team of trainees, but prepare and implement work schedules to complete required construction projects. Reporting to the Employment and Training Coordinator, you will manage the day-to-day operations of the construction project, ensuring the quality of the work and deadlines associated with the project are met.
Other duties will involve you:

  • Liaise closely with Registered Training Organisations (RTO) for all training compliance matters
  • Review and assess WHS obligations and implement corrective practices where appropriate
  • Be responsible for daily management of all resources including but not limited to tools, materials, and PPE gear
  • Support the Employment and Training Coordinator to proactively source new employers for employment opportunities for program graduates
  • Collaborate with partner employers and provide feedback on the suitability of each trainee in preparation for future employment opportunities
  • Have an approachable attitude and be responsive to the needs of the clients and the team
Desired Skills and Experience
Essential Criteria:
  • Applicable trade qualification
  • Experience managing a team of apprentices/trainees on a construction project
  • An understanding of challenges faced by Indigenous people in securing training, skills development and employment opportunities
  • The ability to work unsupervised, with a high level personal drive, self-motivation and energy
Work Requirement:
  • Queensland Blue Card (Working with Children Check)
  • White Card - Queensland Construction
  • Clear National Criminal History Check.
  • Unrestricted QLD driver's licence
  • Eligibility to work in Australia.
