The role:
- Provision of clinical care to inpatients of the Wilfred Lopes Centre, inmates within the Statewide Prison Service and clients of the Community Forensic Mental Health Service, in collaboration with other team members. This will include the application of a wide range of specialist skills and interventions.
- Acts as a consultant for and provide clinical leadership to team members.
- Promote and maintain close links with other specialists and service providers to ensure continuity of patient care.
- Liaison with other community service providers (especially GP’s), Community Corrections and Court staff.
- Liaison with Primary Health staff within Correctional Health Service and with Correctional Services staff.

Details of Appointment
Permanent full time and part time, day worker (with on-call) position working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from as soon as possible.

Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 1- Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 3 $210,000 - $301,349 per annum, pro rata + 11% superannuation + access to salary packaging
Please note that access to the Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner salary range $291,472-$301,349 is subject to the successful applicant satisfying the criteria for Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 1, 2 or 3 as outlined in the Medical Practitioners (Tasmanian State Service) Award
- Salary range is in accordance with Medical Practitioner Agreement 2022
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Provision of motor vehicle allowance of $25,758 per annum, pro rata
- Communication allowance of $1,948 per annum, pro rata
- Continuing Professional Development Allowance of $16,000 per annum, pro rata
- Relocation and commencement support available up to $15,000 for approved appointees
- Other allowances as applicable

- Specialist or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia in a relevant specialty
