We are looking for an experienced Consulting Arborist for our Arboriculture and Urban Forestry consultancy based in Hawthorn.
The role includes:
- Assessing and reporting on trees for
- planning referrals
- risk assessments
- tree data collection
- auditing tree works
- Reviewing tree reports for planning referrals
- Auditing arboriculture reports
- Preparing policies and procedures for tree management
- Project arborist services.
We seek someone with the following qualifications:
- Minimum AQF level 5 in arboriculture
- Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ)
- Preferred tertiary qualification in arboriculture
- Associated qualification such as planning or landscape architecture.
We seek someone with the following skills and qualities:
- High level of tree knowledge, including tree identification, tree physiology, and industry standards
- Experience working with trees in the public realm, either in local government or consulting to government
- Knowledge of and experience with local government planning schemes
- Knowledge of and practical experience with GIS
- High-level written communication skills
- Professional communication and behaviour
- Will become part of our small team for the long term
- Proficient in MS Word and MS Excel; GIS experience preferred
- Able to undertake projects and work as directed as well as independently manage projects
- Good problem-solving skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Driver’s licence
- Industry construction card (White Card) desirable.
