Your Opportunity

As the Contract and Compliance Officer, you will contribute to developing and delivering quality learning services to a wide range of clients through developing and reviewing formal contract documents based on approved templates and coordinating execution of contracts.

This position reports to the Quality and Compliance Coordinator

This is a Temporary, Full-Time opportunity, to October 2024 unless otherwise determined.

The position will be based primarily at Cairns however you may be required to perform work at other TAFE Queensland campuses.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the tracking of contracts and associated milestones through an electronic contract register that facilitates the identification of expiration of contracts and ensures that invoices are raised and payments made in accordance with the terms of the contract.
  • Provide support to Managers to facilitate contract reporting and action any required documentation following this consultation. Work with Business Partners to collate and prepare progress and final reports as required.
  • Organise, lead, provide advice and report on audits to verify the implementation of business processes and validate corrective action for the following:
    • Standards for Registered Training Organisation (SRTO) including Registration checks of
      • Quality System
      • Contract Compliance.
  • Collate information in response to RTI and Privacy requests, whilst maintaining a high level of confidentiality, providing timely summary and action reports to relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide staff induction and ongoing training outlining the Quality Management System, SRTO and Contract requirements.
  • Develop process work flows and work instructions, and contribute to the development of procedures, policies, processes, and guidelines to maximise efficiency and compliance.
  • Undertake research and development on matters relating to business functions.
  • Ensure day to day activities align with business operations.
  • Contribute to improvement in business processes and practices.

How you will be assessed

The ideal applicant will be someone who has the following key capabilities:

  1. Understanding of or ability to rapidly gain a sound understanding of legislation, contract terms and conditions, SRTO compliance and Quality System processes.
  2. Demonstrated ability to coordinate, perform and lead procedural audits, including supporting clients through the audit process, identification of root causes, audit reporting and facilitate corrective and preventative actions.
  3. Responds to changes in client needs and expectations with the ability to plan, prioritise and manage workflows, undertake administrative tasks with a high degree of accuracy and consistency, and achieve deadlines with a minimum of supervision.
  4. Acts professionally at all times and takes personal responsibility for accurate completion of work including utilisation of computerised management information systems and general software packages to support client needs.
  5. Proven ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders using well developed communication, interpersonal, negotiation and relationship management skills to achieve positive outcomes.
