Permanent, part-time position based in Burnie working 48 hours per fortnight
Anglicare Tasmania is a non-profit organisation providing a wide range of community services to the people of Tasmania. We are part of the national Anglicare Australia network of organisations. Anglicare advocates for social justice and aids people in times of need. We provide programs relating to health, housing, families, drug and alcohol treatment and support and more.
Lodge Cooks prepare nutritional meals (lunch and dinner) for the residents at our Lodges and are responsible for budgeting, ordering of supplies and menu planning in conjunction with the Lodge residents. The Cook also maintains the kitchen equipment and kitchen storerooms to required standards.
The successful applicant will possess demonstrable competency, knowledge, understanding and/or skills in the following areas:

• hold a relevant trade qualification or have demonstrated experience in providing nutritional meals, taking into consideration the specific dietary requirements of individual tenants;
• have relevant experience in preparing and providing nutritional meals for large groups of people within a specific budget and in a timely manner;
• have demonstrated experience in working with people from diverse backgrounds;
• be able to work effectively in a small team.

Successful applicants must be willing to:

• provide a current Tasmanian Working with Vulnerable People Registration (employment/volunteer category) including NDIS Worker Screening Check if you are applying for the 1st time or have renewed your registration since 1st February 2021;
• present an unsupervised contact with children or vulnerable people type National Police Check (no older than 12 months);
• provide an International Police Check if you have resided for 12 months or more outside of Australia after the age of 16;
• undertake a satisfactory Anglicare assessed medical:
• provide a current provisional or full Australian Driver Licence.
