Cook/Catering Assistant - Aged Care

Catering Industries Pty Ltd is a leading provider of contracted hospitality services (catering, cleaning and laundry) to Australia's health and Aged Care, education, government, corporate and resources sector.  We currently employ over 2,000 personnel engaged in various operations nationally.
 

About the role

We are seeking an experience Cook/Kitchenhand/Catering Assistantwho is passionate about cooking nutritious and healthy meals, to join the kitchen team at our new client's Aged Care facility in Ringwood East, VIC.

• Higher hourly rate will be paid for cook shifts.
• Part time - 15 hours/week each as a cook and catering assistant
• Weekend and Public Holiday Loadings apply. 

The successful applicant must provide a current Federal Police Check certificate, or be willing to apply for one, and have received at least two doses of the COVID-19 Vaccine.

Skills and experience

• 2+ years' experience in a similar role
• Cert III in commercial cookery desirable
• Reliable and punctual
• Collaborative and team player
• Ability to multi-task and perform work within deadlines.
• The ability to function within a kitchen whilst working harmoniously with the team.
• Excellent client liaison and customer service skills
   

Key Responsibilities:

• Meal preparation according to the menu.
• Be well presented and enjoy working with and serving people. 
• Ability to produce high quality meals in line with HACCP guidelines, Quality Assurance procedures.
• Responsible for preparation of special diets such as puree, gluten free and texture modified etc
• Excellent organisation skills and the ability to multi-task
• High level of QA, WH&S, HACCP and Food Safety knowledge
• Support the chef manager in preparation of meals

Candidates must:

• Be Well Presented and Enjoy Working with and Serving People
• Have knowledge of Food Safety & HACCP
• Possess excellent communication & customer service skills
• Previous Aged Care experience is preferable, but not essential
• Provide or be willing to apply for an Australian Police Check
• Have at least 2 doses of COVID Vaccination
